The US Blacklists 7 Chinese Supercomputing Entities as Potential National Security Threats

The U.S. Department of Commerce has blacklisted seven Chinese supercomputing companies for having ties to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and their potential for developing Weapons of Mass Destruction. The blacklist restricts U.S. companies from exporting to and doing business with the banned entities.

“We firmly reject the US move to add 7 Chinese supercomputing entities to the Entity List to maintain monopoly and hegemony in S&T [science & technology] sector by abusing national security & state power. Despite blockade, China’s supercomputing is leading the world. The US can’t contain our S&T progress,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lijian Zhao in a statement on Twitter.

A new series of hacks against the American government, private firms, and critical infrastructure has been discovered. The hack, which is said to be perpetrated by a China-backed group, worked by breaking through Pulse Connect, a program used by several businesses to enable employees to work remotely from their homes. Utah-based IT company Ivanti, which owns the Pulse Connect suite, said in a statement that the hackers had taken advantage of a flaw in the program to break into the systems of a “very limited number of customers.”

PayPal blocks income from volunteer police after providing security during Arizona audit

As Arizona conducts an audit of more than two million ballots from the questionable 2020 election results that saw Democrat Joe Biden as president, a traditional group that provides volunteer security services has stopped receiving donations after PayPal blocked their income. This occurred after it was learned that they were participating as patriotic democracy advocates checking for audit irregularities.

The PayPal firm originally functioned as their main channel of income, given that through the platform they received the total of their donations.  But suddenly, just before the vote counts began over the weekend, they stopped receiving donations without even receiving any kind of notification from the firm.
