COVID-19 Outbreak & Cover-up

In their quest to prevent another SARS-like outbreak, Chinese and Western scientists pursued new viruses from bat caves in Southern China. Their efforts would lead them to a mine in Mojiang, China, where six miners had fallen ill with COVID-like symptoms.

It was here that Shi Zheng-li of the Wuhan Institute of Virology found the closest known relative to COVID-19. This virus, along with thousands of other virus samples, would be brought back to several labs in Wuhan.

Unexpected Side Effects of Ultrasound Gel

For example, a 2016 study published in the journal Autism Research by scientists from the University of Washington examined the records of 2,644 children with autism. These scientists found that boys exposed to ultrasound in the first trimester had more severe autism symptoms, including decreased IQ and increased repetitive behaviors, than babies who hadn’t been exposed.

Research conducted by Dr. Manuel Casanova, professor of biomedical sciences at the University of South Carolina, has also shown that early exposure to ultrasounds can trigger ill-timed migration of brain cells that can lead to brain disruption and autism.

Historic boost in food stamp benefits starts in October

Although a pandemic bump to food stamp benefits has passed, beneficiaries will notice increased benefits due to Congress’ decision in 2018 to examine how benefits are calculated.

According to CNN, benefits will climb by 27% above pre-pandemic levels in October, the highest increase in history.

The extra help will be accessible to all 42 million Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients indefinitely. The rise comes as a 15% increase in SNAP payments was imposed as a COVID-19 pandemic preparedness measure, which expired on Sept. 30, according to Fox5Atlanta.

Chinese solar panels are not environmentally friendly and violate ethical standards of economics, experts warn

Most solar panels are imported into the U.S., making them cheaper. However, critics claim their production in other countries, such as China, is not helping the environment.

“Most of [the panels] are produced with energy from carbon-dioxide-belching, coal-burning plants in China,” a Wall Street Journal report said in July. China does not comply with international free-market standards and uses slave labor for its production.

The museum was only introduced last month by the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China.
